The Human Resources Assistant provides customer service to employees, maintains employee files and HRIS database, and assists team members in various other HR functions. This position interacts internally with all subsidiaries, management teams, and employees and externally with State Employment Departments. The Human Resources Assistant must be able to maintain, record, and manage confidential information on a daily basis. This position is within an office environment. Applicants must navigate multiple screens and be comfortable with extensive close PC, keyboard, and phone work. Work can be in excess of 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business needs. Required Skills, Experience & Education: College Degree preferably in Human Resource Management or equivalent work experience. Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and HRIS databases. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to listen and respond to information effectively. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to come to work on time and daily and work remotely when needed. Maintain confidentiality, and project a positive and professional business image. Possess problem-solving and decision-making skills. Primary Functions: Provides timely, accurate customer service to employees while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Maintains personnel files by filing, organizing, and posting employee files. Assists HR team members of subsidiaries with clerical tasks, such as reference checking, interview setup coordination, etc. Enters employee information into HRIS database. Prepares support to all subsidiaries. Processes new hire paperwork. Responds to employment verification requests.
